Steampunk Era

When I was asked to create a steampunk-inspired bouquet, I couldn’t say yes quickly enough! I knew straight away that I wanted to embrace all those rich, moody, chocolatey tones — honestly, this colour palette was almost good enough to eat!

I created a petite bouquet of handmade felt dahlias and roses in warm browns and creams, then went all-out with the details. Bronze glitter cogs were sprinkled throughout the bouquet, with gorgeous rose-gold glitter foliage adding that all-important touch of sparkle.

And because bigger definitely isn’t always better, I deliberately kept this bouquet small. Not every couple dreams of walking down the aisle carrying a huge, cascading bouquet, and I wanted to show just how much personality and impact you can create with something petite.

Then came the outfits…

I was absolutely thrilled to discover that Scarlet Tyla would be creating the dress for the shoot. Having my handmade felt wedding flowers alongside such an incredibly talented dressmaker was a total dream!

The whole shoot was an absolute joy — and it proved something I love about wedding flowers: you don’t need a huge bouquet or a rainbow of bright colours to make a statement.

Sometimes, it’s the unexpected details that steal the show.

A little sparkle. A little steampunk. A whole lot of personality.
